About Our Club Meetings

  • Club Meetings are held once a month on a Sunday (see Calendarat the Rocklea Show Grounds, 1430 Ipswich Rd Rocklea. Access to our club-house is via the gate in Goburra Sreet, just off the Ipswich Service Road. For directions click on the Google 'Site Map' and 'Rocklea Map' buttons.

  • We open at 8:30am for workshop activities where you can bring and work on your own timepiece using the club's extensive range of equipment.

  • At 12:30pm the main meeting commences.

  • These monthly meets alternate between:                                           a General Meetingguest speaker on a horological topic.           Workshop - covering an aspect of clock or watch repairs.

  • The finish time is about 3:00pm. You are free to come and go anytime.

  • Tea and coffee is provided, but you need to provide your own lunch.

What else do we have to offer?

  • Opportunities to interact informally, swap ideas and get expert advice.

  • A 'Show and Tell' where you can describe your new acquisitions and share handy tips.

  • Take part in the Train Wreck competition where members show and explain the restoration process of a clock in dire need of some TLC.

  • Borrow from the library. With over 300 books it is a great source of information. Refer to the 'Library' menu.

  • Buy or sell timepieces at the mart operating each meet.

  • Go on field trips. These have proven very popular with recent trips to the Ipswich Railway Museum, Boonah, the UQ museum and the Roy Skyring collection at Petrie.

  • Attend the auction every year in April with normally around 400 - 500 items up for sale.

  • Receive a quarterly newsletter "The Mainspring"  containing club and general news.

  • Attend the Christmas party. This is a fun social event with activities such as a trivial quiz, raffles, competitions, a silent auction and of course great food.
